2022 and 2023 Council of the Year

The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Remodelers Council is 2023’s NAHB Remodelers Council of the Year. The council’s annual Charity Garage Sale continues to be a big hit, with this year’s sale bringing in $26,326 in gross sales to fund the council’s Annual Charity Day project. This year, the GHBA Remodelers used these funds in partnership with HomeAid Houston to support Family Promise of Lake Houston (FPLH), a non-profit that provides programs and services necessary to address the underlying causes of homelessness and to return families to a self-sustaining life. Many council board members gathered at FPLH to build a new playscape for the resident children, beautify the surrounding grounds and turn the pet room into a pet paradise.

In addition to their charitable work, the council hosted a variety of events and meetings to foster networking and professional growth. These included Speed Selling Luncheon Events, which featured expert speakers discussing topics such as estimating, insurance claims and the remodeling forecast for 2024. The reintroduction of their Membership Ambassador Program played a pivotal role in new member recruitment and retention, resulting in the council closing out the year with 300 members.

These are only some of the many ways GHBA Remodelers remained steadfast in its commitment to supporting its members with valuable programs, information, education and fellowship.
